A Leprechaun is an Irish “elf”. Leprechauns are small in size, and some say they look like a tiny, old man in a top hat and red beard. They are tricky fellows and like to play pranks on unsuspecting people. Leprechaun是爱尔兰小精灵，小精灵很小，有些人说他们看起来就像带着帽子，留着红胡子的老人。他们很淘气，喜欢跟没防备的人闹恶作剧。

Legend says that Leprechauns are shoemakers (also called cobblers). Curiously enough, they only make one of each type of shoe. You can tell a Leprechaun is near if you hear the tapping of their hammers. 传说爱尔兰小精灵是鞋匠。他们很好奇，所以他们每种鞋都只做一只。如果你听到槌子敲击的声音，说不定一个爱尔兰小精灵就在你身边哦。

Each Leprechaun also has a pot of gold! Some say they bury it in secret places only Leprechauns can reach; others say they hide it at the end of the rainbow. One thing is for sure though, if you catch a Leprechaun he will lead you to his pot of gold and give it to you as a bribe to let him go. 每个爱尔兰小精灵都有一罐子金子！不骗你的，有人说他们喜欢把金子藏在他们能够到的任何秘密地方，也有人说他们喜欢把金子藏在彩虹的尽头。不管藏在什么地方，有一件事是确定的，如果你能逮到一个小精灵的话，他会用所有的金子来赎回自己的自由。（心动不如行动，赶快去找吧！）

Remember, Leprechauns are tricky fellows, so you must be creative and tricky when deciding on a way to try to catch him. You can try to lure him to you and grab him, or you can try to build a Leprechaun trap to capture him in. 不过请记住，精灵们很精明，你也需要奇思妙想才有可能抓住一个。你必须引诱他到跟前，然后一把抓住他，或者你也可以做一个陷阱笼子来圈住他。

If you are lucky enough to capture a Leprechaun, your work is not done yet! Legend says you cannot take your eyes off the Leprechaun for even a second or he will disappear. It is very difficult to catch a tricky Leprechaun, but you can sure have fun trying! The first thing you need to do is build a trap. There is no right or wrong way to build a Leprechaun trap. 如果你足够幸运逮到一个的话，并不表明万事大吉了。传说你要一眼不眨地盯着他，否则他会转瞬即逝。虽然很困难，但没有挑战的游戏也不好玩。赶快来做一个陷阱，试一试你的运气吧！

You can make a contraption with a net, boxes, a clean can, or anything else you can think of such as paper towel rolls, empty containers, tin foil, paper, string or yarn, sandwich bags, etc; or, how about using an old shoe since they are said to be cobblers. You have to be very creative to catch a Leprechaun. 做精灵陷阱，你可以用网子，盒子，罐子，任何你能想到的东西，比如卷纸桶心，空罐子，锡箔纸，毛线，塑料袋，等等。要不你试一试一只旧鞋子？说不定他们对你的鞋子设计感兴趣呢。总之开动脑筋，好好设计。
